REPORT ON REV ROGER C COLLINS’S VISIT TO AFLAO –GHANA ON 28TH AUGUST—31ST 2009 FOR A CONVENTION .
INTRODUCTION
Rev Roger C Collins a man of God whose footsteps are directed by the Holy Spirit came to Aflao on 28th August to 31st 2009 to fellowship with brethren at this part of the globe. It was a moment pen and paper cannot perfectly describe. It was a time blessed with the presence of the Holy Spirit. All brethren who participated never regretted. Comments from brethren who did not participate from the beginning confirms that they regretted for not being part of the meeting from its inception. On the whole it was a very successful convention.
ATTENDANCE
It could be placed on record that this is one of the meetings which was greatly
patronized by brethren who were drawn by the Holy Spirit for fellowship. The number
of brethren who attended the meetings also go to confirm that those who participated
in the previous years’ meetings with him were satisfied with what the lord used
him for. It could also be put on record that ,the echo of the previous meetings
held with the brother has traveled beyond the boundaries imagined. About two thousand
( 2000) plus brethren benefited from the meetings. This number is more than the
attendance registered during our previous meetings with the brother. It could therefore
be inferred that if God allows another meeting with brother Roger, in the Aflao
community the attendance will be more than what was witnessed during the August
2009 Convention.
ACTIVITIES:
There were five meetings with Rev Roger C Collins during the 2009 convention at
Aflao.
DAY ONE
The first meeting with Rev Roger C Collins was on the evening of 28th August 2009.Scriptures
on which the meeting was developed was read from Acts: 19:32, Hebrews 10;25 and
proverbs 31:10.Rev Roger as a foundation for other meetings emphases the need for
brethren to come together for fellowship. The evening meeting planted brethren in
great expectation for greater spiritual blessings from the lord. The Mark 16 prayer
line was held for people with needs. Almost all brethren present went through the
prayer line with their different needs. This brought the first meeting to an end.
DAY TWO
The second days meeting on 29th August was in two sections (morning and evening
sections).Hebrews 11:1—6 and 4:12 guided the activities of the morning. It was emphased
that as believers ,our faith in God should become a reality. It was also emphasesd
that we should be focused on the promises of God and not allow ourselves to be carried
away by distractions. He emphased that believers should remain focused on what God’s
promises are.
During the second section of day two, scriptures read are from James 5:11 and John
4:22—24.At this section how to wait on the lord for the fulfillment of his will
was reemphased. That, God’s promises will surely come to pass, and what we as believers
should pray for is the patience to receive all that which is promised. At closing
,Rev Roger C Collins invited people with hard cases (complex diseases ) to come
and be prayed for during the Sunday meeting. Bro Roger also invited questions which
were not based on doctrine from brethren who may need clarification on certain words
used by brother Braham. This ended the second days activity.
DAY THREE
On 30th August which was a Sunday, a text was read from John 5:1—13.God used him
to emphase that God is still leading people who put their faith and trust on him.
All brethren with sincere spirit will put on record that God INSPIRED brother Roger
to break chains of misconceptions around the message in this community.
In respond to the invitation thrown to people to come with hard cases, different
shades of diseases were brought and prayed for. Deaf problem, mental problem, the
lame and all forms of complex cases were prayed for. It could be placed on record
that there were both spiritual and physical deliverance. On that day. The meeting
travelled to the third phase when brother Roger answered some questions from brethren.
All well meaning brethren went home very satisfied with how God used the brother
to bless the meeting.
DAY FOUR
On the fourth day 31st August 2009, there was a ministerial meeting with ministers,
church leaders, deacons etc. Thirty (30) brethren participated in the meeting.
The issues that formed the bases of the ministerial meeting were:
A) Why have we such a message?
b) Why are brethren not receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
This was another wonderful time we had with Brother Roger. God led him to treat
these two delicate issues in a Holy Spirit directed manner.
As indicated in the introductory chapter, words cannot describe the benefits ministers
and brethren in general derived from the August Convention at Aflao Ghana.
Rev Roger C Collins was scheduled to preach thirty (30) times in 21 days .So, after
the meeting at Aflao, he continued to TEMA,ACCRA,SWEDRU,TAKORADI,CAPE COAST all
in Ghana.
After the meetings in Ghana he continued to Abidjan for another convention.
All brethren who participated in the meetings from 28th to 31st August 2009 were
fed twice in a day. These were made possible by free-will contribution by the host
church.
It is also worth noting that during the preparation period for the convention the
host pastor Apostle David Dowou professed that:
1) Dos and don’ts (legalism) will not be preached:
2) Brethren who will attend the meetings will be more than ever witnessed;
3) The free-will contributions that will be received from brethren will be more
than ever witnessed in the history of the church;
4) Some ministers’ he has never met will be part of the meeting.
All these professes were fulfilled. These go to confirm bro Roger’s message that
if any one avail himself to God, God will use him to glorify his name. May all who
read this report glory God for the humble life of Rev Roger C Collins and also continue
to pray for him to remain a worthy servant of God.
